Spend 3 nights in vibrant Madrid! We will visit the highlights of Madrid Antiguo (old Madrid), starting with the Rastro, the oldest open flea market in Madrid, We will happen on some local food along the way! Then we will head to the most important plaza in Madrid ,Plaza Mayor, on our way to the historical covered Market that has been converted into a tapas market! Then siesta to avoid jetlag! On the other days, we will visit Spain’s capital city’s oldest pubs and neighborhoods while ‘tapeando’ (eating tapas) and tasting the vermut (vermouth) on tap and delicious Spanish wines. And a Spanish must, go to a Flamenco Show! Optional : museum visits and or shopping–there are lot of both!
On day 4 we will catch the bullet train to Cadiz, the oldest seaport in Europe on the Atlantic! Cadiz is a sparking gem of the Costa de la Luz (Coast of Light), it is the historical port where many cultures passed through and made their mark creating a fun loving and light-hearted population of Gaidetanos (people from Cadiz).
On Day 5 we will walk the ancient streets in the historical center of Cadiz. Visit the main Cathedral, and eat on the main Plaza. Then continue the walking tour the Afternoon is free for beach time and/or shopping. Evening entertainment to be announced
Day 6 – Day trip tp Jerez de la Frontera, tour that includes visiting theSpanish Equestrian School (show), then a walking tour that includes stops for tapas and vino!
Day 7 – Boat tour (weather Permitting) of the surrounding coastal area.
Day 8 Return to Madrid for más food, wine, sights and a Flamenco show!
The Last day we will head back to Madrid, the wrap up the week with dinner and a Flamenco show!
Personal time is built into the itinerary, so you have time to explore on your own 8 days of fun, food , festival and wine! Olé! Con Olé, Olé!
